What to Pack for Italy this Spring

I’m heading to Italy for Design Week — and while my suitcase is still in chaos, my ideal packing list is crystal clear. These aren’t the exact pieces I’m bringing, but rather the kinds of looks I’d want to have on hand: elegant, layered, and low-effort in that very specific “I just threw this on but also yes, it’s The Row” way.

Think of this as your personal style map for spring in Italy — from gallery-hopping in Milan to late dinners somewhere with flickering candles and zero Wi-Fi. I curated this guide with versatility in mind: looks that move from day to night, loafers to slingbacks, espresso to spritz. Let’s get into it.

Easy Day-Out Looks

Loved every piece I bought—the pinstripe vest sharpened everything, the Mischa jeans were my go-to wear-anywhere, and the Fluxx sandals were chic and comfy, even on cobblestones. The ribbon earrings added just enough shine, the Ollie bag went with me everywhere, and cat-eye sunglasses brought the attitude.

The cotton tee went with everything, the cotton skirt moved like a dream, and the cap-toe slingbacks made every outfit feel finished. D-frame sunglasses, Florence hoops, and the Mango bag pulled it all together with ease.

For Sunny Days & Seaside Walks

The Magda Butrym dress—strapless, ruched, and floral in all the right ways—was my go-to. I paired it with leather sandals, the oversized tote, and my Chanel sunnies that seem to work with everything.

For a bit more structure, I went with the Magda Butrym minidress. On softer days, the off-white butterfly Richelieu blouse felt just right—playful and light—especially with the Lake sandals, raffia hat, and my favorite shoulder bag.

The asymmetrical top with a white maxi skirt felt breezy and modern. I finished it off with Hadyn slides, a cute sun hat, and the basket bag. On easier days, the lyocell knit dress made things simple. When I wanted a little more shape, I layered on the collared cotton

Chic for Cooler Dayss

The Madewell tank and wide-leg jeans were my everyday base. I layered the oversized trench, added the City Link necklace, and wore loafers that went with everything. The handwoven tote held it all.

When it got chilly, I reached for the chunky sweater and wool coat. The Saint Laurent belt, mini knot earrings, Capri sunnies, and Astaire loafers made everything feel styled without overthinking it.
